Iced Heart
The gentle touch eludes her now
Backs turned away from this woman
Time after time, no difference with who
Sculptures surround her,
Used to display beauty and grace
Now they show a cornered heart
Barely beating fast enough
To be alive
Her iced heart
Closed to the world around her
Icicles now protect her from the outside
Forgetting how to love
To embrace the warmth of compassion
She turns her back on the world this time
Placing herself upon the throne
To watch their suffering come to an end.
